Arkblu Surfaces is seeking a skilled Cabinet Designer to lead the measurement and layout process for custom cabinetry installations. This is a hands-on technical role focused on precision, product fit, and client satisfaction. If you're experienced in cabinet layout using 2020 Design and comfortable working independently from jobsite visit to final specs, we want to hear from you.
At Arkblu Surfaces, we specialize in the design, supply, and installation of high-quality interior surfaces, including tile, hardwood, countertops, cabinets, and custom decorative finishes such as concrete overlays and Venetian plaster. As our Cabinet Designer, you'll be responsible for site measuring, drafting cabinet layouts, and preparing product specifications using 2020 Design. You'll work directly with the sales and installation teams to ensure accurate fit, client alignment, and production readiness. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to balance design aesthetics with technical functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed, on-site measurements for cabinetry installations
- Use 2020 Design to create accurate layouts and plan sets for client approval and production
- Collaborate with clients on cabinet styles, finishes, and configurations
- Source or substitute comparable cabinet lines when original specs require adjustment
- Support estimating by providing accurate materials takeoffs and layouts for pricing
- Prepare project documentation, including cabinet drawings, cut sheets, and revisions
- Assist with showroom appointments, product displays, and design presentations as needed
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely material orders and project readiness
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cabinet design and drafting
- Proficiency in 2020 Design software is a must
- Excellent measuring, space planning, and layout development skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot potential issues in layouts or field conditions
- Familiarity with cabinet manufacturers, material lines, and finish selections
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
- Knowledge of insurance restoration or like-kind replacement is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Full time position
- Competitive compensation at $50,000 to $70,000 per year, based on experience.
